Fished the low tide today with the Davies family from Exmouth, dad Phill, 10 year old Daniel and eight year old Beau. The day was one to remember, after gathering some cracking mullet we headed up the Little Howard to try our luck. the first spot proved fruitless but after about half an hour at the next spot all hell broke loose when Phill hooked into a solid fish that ran around every snag it could find. After clearing the boys lines and a bit of fancy boat work Phill guided a fat 106cm girl to the net. After plenty of photos she was released swimming away strongly. Once the tide dropped we headed to the hole I had chosen to sit out the low. The first couple of hours was slow, fishing our baits off floats but once the tide slowed enough we positioned the boat over near the sand bar and fished our baits on the bottom. The results were almost instant with hook up after hook up but the fish were winning every battle, breaking the boys of in the snags. Daniel made comment to me that there must be plenty of Finger Mark ( Goldies ) in here and I promptly replied no we dont get them here much, so you can guess what happened, he pulled in a lovely pan sized Goldie just to make me look bad. Finally Phill got a nice 77cm barra too the boat and broke the drought and from then on they managed to get four more barra to the boat only stopping because we couldnt get enough
